Dial-Up Networking Setup (for Windows 95/98)
Please follow the instructions below to set up your Internet connection properly.
NOTE: You must follow these directions in order and step-by-step to
ensure a proper installation of the WIN95 Dial-up Networking.
Otherwise, the application may not work properly and you may not be able to connect.
Before starting installation do the following:
NOTE:
* Your login is the same as
your e-mail account.
For example, John Smith wants his e-mail to be: john@pagefront.com His login
would be the same: john@pagefront.com
* Please choose your
password carefully, something that you will remember and it is hard enough for others to
guess.
This is essential to protect yourself and your account privacy.
Never give out your password as this is an invitation for someone to use your account
fraudulently.
Please choose your password to be at least six digits and/or characters long.
Step 1. Configuring
your dial-up networking.
Press the
button and select settings. Go into the Control Panel and
double-click on the Add/Remove Programs icon as shown in Figure 1.

Clicking on the Details box displays a screen as shown in Figure 3

If the Dial-up Networking option box is checked then you may proceed to Step 2.
If there is no check mark in the box next to the Dial-up Networking Option, click in the
box directly to the left of the Dial-up Networking entry.
Select OK. Win 95 will try to select the appropriate drivers and install the Dial-up
Networking features.
You may need your installation disks or Win95 CD to proceed if the files are not found on
your system.
Once Dial-up networking is installed you may continue with Step 2.
Step 2. Installing your Dial-up Adapter and TCP/IP Protocol !
Press the
button and select settings. Go into the Control Panel and
double-click on the
icon.

Once you have both components installed click OK at the bottom of the Network
properties box as shown in Figure 4.
It will then prompt you for your Windows install disks or CD-ROM.
When it is done it might prompt you to restart, chose OK.
Once your computer restarts, continue with step 3.
Step 3. Configuration of the "Newly Made Connection Icon"
Double-click the My Computer from the desktop and then double-click the Dial-Up Networking
Icon.
Double-Click the Make New Connection Icon. This will create a new dial-up connection to
WTD and bring up the New Connection Wizard.
You can name the icon "pagefront", "WTD" or anything else that you
would like to call it.
Your modem should be listed in the drop down list. If a modem has not been configured for
WIN95 yet a Modem Configuration will appear.
If you have problems configuring the modem please con sult your modem's manufatures
instructions.
Enter the information that the setup Wizard asks for and hit the Finish button when
completed.
Your Dial-Up Networking group should look similiar to the following:

Step 4. Configuration of the Dial-Up Properties
First, highlight the new icon you made in step four and press the right mouse button to
choose the properties menu.
It should bring up a window that looks similar to Figure 6.
Select your local phone number from this list,

Second, select the Server Types tab at the top. It should bring up the window similiar to
Figure 7.
Make sure the drop box and checks are the same.

Next, Select the TCP/IP settings button. It should bring up the window similiar to Figure
8.
Make sure to fill in the information exactly as in Figure 8.

Finally, click OK. It will bring you back to the dial-up networking window. Double click
the icon to connect to WTD.
Step 5. Dialing and Connecting to WTD
The best way to connect Windows 95 to WTD is to use the Internet icon on
your desktop.
If this is your first Internet connection using Win 95, a short Wizard will take you
through the remaing steps to dial into WTD.
You shouldn't have any problems if you have already configured you connection.
If any information appears within the setup boxes DO NOT CHANGE IT since it will change
any settings previously set up.
If WTD is replacing a previous providers setup right-click on the Internet icon or an
existing Netscape icon to make the necessary changes.
The setup will prompt you for your username and password that you have choosen.
Please enter them in the appropriate places.
